Renowned pakhawaj player Dinesh Prasad Mishra suffered a heart attack while he was performing at Santakda Festival which was being held in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow. The incident took place on Monday, February 6. By the time medical facility was arranged, Dinesh Prasad had passed away.
Dinesh Prasad is one of the few artists who played pakhawaj, a barrel-shaped, two-headed drum. According to reports, he was playing pakhawaj in the Taal Vadya program at the Mahindra Santakda Festival in Safed Baradari on Monday.
He had a heart attack during his performance. The organisers took him to King George’s Medical University, where doctors declared him brought dead. Originally a resident of Mathura, Pt. Dinesh Mishra was about 68.
Dinesh Mishra’s last rites will be performed at the cremation ground in Alambagh by the family members as per rituals.
